Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I start?
Check out our EFTPOS 101 guide for help getting set up, whether you're starting your first business or switching providers.
What costs can I expect?
You’ll pay a monthly fee to lease your terminal, plus $18.90 + GST to connect to the Worldline Network. Some banks charge setup fees. Card processing fees may apply.
What's the difference between the Worldline Network and the Verifone Network?
New Zealand has two main payment networks: Worldline and Verifone. We operate the Verifone Network but support devices on both. Differences include the terminal interface and features. With the Verifone Network, support is integrated, pricing is bundled, and it’s more affordable — just $15.00 + GST per terminal, per month, compared to $18.90 + GST on the Worldline network.
What payment methods can I accept?
Your terminal accepts EFTPOS and debit cards by default. To take credit or contactless cards like Visa, Mastercard, and UnionPay, your bank can set up a merchant facility. You can also connect to third-party providers to add more options.
How long does it take to get set up?
Most businesses are up and running within a few weeks. We'll guide you through each step.
