What is Verifone Central?

Verifone Central is a free online reporting portal included with every Eftpos NZ terminal. It gives you a real-time view of all your transactions processed on the Verifone network — across all your terminals and locations — with tools to filter, export, and schedule reports. You can also access additional payment services including Virtual Terminal and Pay By Link from the same platform. To log in, go to nz.live.verifone.cloud.

What kinds of reports can I access?

There are two ways to access reporting: your terminal and Verifone Central. On your terminal, you can view and print transaction history, daily transaction lists, settlement enquiry reports showing your current settlement total by card type, settlement history covering the last 14 days, and shift totals reports for reconciling by shift. In Verifone Central, reports include orders and transactions reports filterable by date range, terminal, card type, transaction type, and cashier ID; a Report Scheduler for automated recurring reports; and a Generated Reports library. You can also build and save custom CSV export templates.

How far back does my transaction history go?

On your terminal, Transaction History stores up to 90 days of records, capped at 1,000 transactions, covering all terminals under your merchant number. Settlement history on the terminal covers the last 14 days. In Verifone Central, transaction history is available from your onboarding date up to a maximum of 18 months. If you need to retain records beyond that window, scheduling regular CSV exports is recommended.

Can I set up automated or scheduled reports?

Yes. Verifone Central includes a Report Scheduler under the Commerce tab. You can configure reports to run automatically on a recurring basis — daily reports are a common setup. When a scheduled report is ready, you receive an email notification with a link to download it from Verifone Central. Custom CSV export templates can be applied to scheduled reports so the output always includes the fields relevant to your business.

How much does reporting cost?

Reporting is free for all Eftpos NZ merchants. Verifone Central access is included at no additional cost — there is no separate fee to access the portal, run reports, or schedule exports. Some features within Verifone Central — including Virtual Terminal, Pay By Link, and Online Payments — are available as additional services and require separate setup.

How do I search for a specific transaction?

On your terminal, use Transaction History to search by card, date, amount, or merchant reference — up to 90 days of records. In Verifone Central, use Advanced Search under the Commerce tab to filter across all your terminals by card, date, operator, terminal ID, or transaction type. This is particularly useful for multi-terminal merchants who need to locate a specific transaction without knowing which device processed it.

Can I reprint or resend a receipt?

Yes. From Transaction History on your terminal, tap any transaction to reprint the receipt or resend it directly to the customer. For eCommerce transactions, receipts can also be managed from the Actions tab in Verifone Central.

What formats can I export reports in?

Accepted Answer

In Verifone Central, transaction reports are exported as CSV. You can create and save custom export templates to control which fields are included — options include masked card number, surcharge amount, transaction state, merchant ID, terminal ID, and more. Templates are reusable, making it straightforward to produce a consistent format for reconciliation or accounting software. For terminal-based reporting, settlement reports can be printed directly from the device or emailed as a PDF.

Can multiple people in my business access Verifone Central?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Verifone Central supports multiple users per account with role-based access controls. Roles include Merchant Admin and Merchant Supervisor, among others. Admin and Supervisor roles have read-only access to terminal settings — they can view terminal information but cannot add, edit, or delete devices. User and role management is handled under account administration settings in Verifone Central.

Question 10

What happens to my transaction history if my terminal is swapped out?

Accepted Answer

Transaction History stored on your terminal is not transferred when a terminal is swapped out. If you use Verifone Central, your transaction data is accessible there regardless of which terminal processed the payment, so you will not lose records during a hardware swap as long as you are using the portal.

Can I process refunds through Verifone Central?

Accepted Answer

For in-person EFTPOS transactions, refunds are processed through your terminal. You will need a refund facility set up with your acquiring bank before you can process any refund. On Android terminals, both standard refunds and Matched Refunds are available depending on what your bank supports — Matched Refunds are initiated from Transaction History on the terminal. If you have online payments enabled, eCommerce transaction refunds can be managed through the Actions tab in Verifone Central.

I have multiple sites or terminals — how does Verifone Central handle that?

Verifone Central is designed for businesses with multiple terminals and multiple locations. For merchants across more than one site, Verifone Central uses a hierarchy model — you can group terminals under the correct site or node and manage data visibility at each level, so you can view reporting for a single location or across your entire group. For businesses with multiple terminals at one site, terminals are grouped using a parent-child model. The recommended setup approach is to establish your hierarchy first, then attach sites and devices under the correct nodes before configuring terminal groupings.
